Nobody is injured so stop panicking this week

Start probabilities show almost no selection drama across the key template players ahead of gameweek 3.

The group chat gets twitchy on Thursday night. Someone saw a clip of a midfielder walking off a bus with a slight limp. Someone else claims a selection crisis is brewing because a manager looked grumpy in a press conference. Every August, FPL managers invent injuries that do not exist to justify taking hits they do not need.

The numbers tell a much quieter story. Across the top options in the game, nobody carries a start probability below 0.9 this week.

Start probabilities across the main captain and transfer targets for gameweek 3.

Nobody carries real danger. When the lowest starting chance among fifteen prominent picks sits at 90 percent, you do not need to tear up your team. A squad full of healthy options is a blessing, even if it makes your bench decisions slightly more annoying.

The minor doubts are still good to go

A start probability of 0.9 is not a signal to sell a player. It simply means the player sits in a deep squad where minor tactical tweaks or late fitness checks are possible.

Cherki sits at 0.9. Foden sits at 0.9. Saka sits at 0.9. Isak sits at 0.9. Wirtz is slightly higher at 0.94.

Start probability for gameweek 3. Highlighted rows mark players with minor selection uncertainty.

If you own Saka at 11.2 percent ownership or Cherki at 30.7 percent ownership, selling them out of fear is how rank gets given away. Nine times out of ten, a 0.9 probability leads directly to a place in the starting line-up.

Benching a 9.5m midfielder like Saka because he might play 70 minutes instead of 90 is overthinking. He remains a prime asset for Arsenal, and his master score of 92.9 ranks fourth among all midfielders over the next three gameweeks.

Lock in your true constants

The straightforward picks are the ones carrying full 1.0 ratings. Haaland, B.Fernandes, Semenyo, Mbeumo, and Gibbs-White carry zero selection friction this week.

B.Fernandes combines a 1.0 start probability with 48.4 percent ownership and a 99.2 master score over the next three gameweeks. He is as safe as it gets.

If you are looking at transfer targets with complete line-up certainty, Gibbs-White stands out at 7.9m. He carries a 1.0 start probability, a master score of 93.5, and an appealing 70.3 fixture rating across the next three weeks for Nottingham Forest.

Defensively, Tarkowski sits top of his position rank with a 92.7 master score and a 78.3 fixture rating for Everton. Down the price list, Dewsbury-Hall at 6.5m brings an 83.0 fixture rating over the next three weeks, making him an easy enabler if you need funds.

What to do before the deadline

When no heavy hitters are injured, panic transfers are a mistake. Selling Isak or Saka because their start probability is 0.9 rather than 1.0 wastes a free transfer that would be far more valuable next week.

Captain a 1.0 starter like Haaland or B.Fernandes to lock in maximum minutes. Trust your starting eleven, leave your bench to do its job if a minor 0.9 option rests, and roll your transfer into gameweek 4.
